September

September Happenings

Why not use an entire package of straws to drink your smoothie?
 Enjoying a fudge bar
Oh yeah, that's the good stuff!

On September 8th, 2012, Angela and Lance were married in the Manti temple. I have so many pictures from that day, but here a just a few of my favorites. Welcome to the family Lance!

September 8th, 2012 also happened to be Drew's 1st birthday! But since it was Angie and Lance's big day, we celebrated with Drew a little later :)

DREW TURNS ONE!
We celebrated Drew and Kody's birthdays together with a Viking party. Kody has been obsessed with How to Train Your Dragon and got a Hiccup costume for his birthday. I made viking helmets for all the kids and Magen made these awesome dragon cakes, one for Drew and one for Kody.

Next we celebrated with Dave's family. This time it was a construction theme. Here is the invitation.
I got super sick with the flu the day before the party and so Dave had to make and decorate the cake and decorate for the party. He did a good job!
 Cousins!
The kids got to try their hands at constructing with marshmallows and toothpicks

At dinner Capri wanted to feed Drew.

We are so grateful Drew joined out family! We can't imagine life without him! He is our spunky little stinker. Here are some things I want to remember about him at one year old:

He finally sleeps through the night!
He has one tooth on bottom and one on top :)
He doesn't like milk
He has stopped spitting up!
He loves his big brother
He is running around like crazy
He loves candy
He likes to feed himself and help himself to the food on mommy and daddy's plates
He says a few words-mama, dadadadadada, and ba (which is "boo" and "ball)
He has a shoe fettish-he loves to wear and play with shoes and he prefers that everyone be wearing shoes. If you are not, he will go to your closet and bring you a pair of shoes to put on.
He loves music and he loves to dance!
He has a contageous smile which he shares with everyone!
He is mischevious
He likes to be outside
He loves balls
He still puts everything in his mouth
He likes to play hide and seek
He loves electronics (cell phones, ipads, nooks, remote controls)

We love our little DrewBee! Happy Birthday Buddy!

Cute faces playing in the backyard

Grandma Lana, the boys, and I went to Melon Days in Green River.
Best. Parade. Ever.
Plus, all the free watermelon you can eat in the park!
The boys loved playing on the slide at the park, until we had a little mishap...
I decided to take Drew down on my lap and about half way down, his little foot got stuck and pulled under my leg. He immediately started crying. Hard. The kind of cry that tells you something is terribly wrong. And he wouldn't put any weight on that leg. There wasn't any swelling so we decided to watch it for a few days. After a week of him refusing to walk we took him to the doctor. She thought he probably had a spiral fracture and sent us for x-rays. I thought for sure we would be going home with a little cast. But, luckily they didn't find anything and a few days later he started walking again. It must have been a bad sprain. Poor little guy!

In September we started a home preschool with a few of Cole's friends. We had 2 boys and 2 girls (Cole, Spencer, Molly and Kaycee) but Molly's family suddenly moved soon after we started so we recruited Ali to take her spot. I took these pictures on Molly's last day with us. We met Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours and the moms took turns teaching each week.
